Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter (born March 26 1991) is better known under her professional name Ari Lennox is an American artist and singer hailing born in Washington, D.C. She is the first female artist affiliated with J. Cole's record label Dreamville Records. In the month of October, Ari Lennox released her Pho EP. This was the moment that she gained recognition. Her debut album Shea Butter Baby was released on May 7, 2019. Ari Lennox started posting her music to the internet in 2012 as she dropped her first mixtape called Five Finger Discount and debut EP Ariography in 2013. In 2014 Ari Lennox released her own single Bound and the mixtape she self-released, Five Finger Discount. In the year 2015, she performed on Omen's Elephant Eyes album on Sweat released on the 21st of July. J. Cole asked her to work with him on Rihanna's remark. Then, later in the season, the music circulated around Dreamville. The news was released on the 8th of December that she was signed to Dreamville Records. The album Revenge of the Dreamers II which she was featured on, she sang the song Backseat along with Cozz. In October 2016 the singer-songwriter released her debut EP, Pho. Ari Lennox later appeared on J. Cole's hit song Change and also performed as the opening act for the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour in the year 2017. In 2018, she went on to guest feature on two tracks with her label-mates EarthGang in Nothing but the Best and Bas on Icarus. Ari Lennox, on the 16th July, 2018 was the first artist to release her single "Whipped Cream" from Shea Butter Baby. A music video was released on September 5th. Her second single called Grampa on the 9th of November. She then released on the 13th of November two singles called The No One and Pedigree. Shea Butter Baby. Shea Butter Baby later made an appearance as a guest on Creed II album soundtrack alongside Cole. She released this single as a way to celebrate her debut album titled Creed II on 26 February 2019. The song, made available with a video uploaded to YouTube 20 February 2019 was watched more than 3 million times within the first 7 days. As a supporting act she performed with 6LACK during December 2018 on the From East Atlanta With Love Tour.
